Although now a Melbournian, I grew up in the North East of Victoria. A country upbringing that has defined me, inhabiting my artwork and driving me to spend many satisifying hours interpreting the Australian landscape.
Most often using photographs taken on holidays, I favour oil on canvas or board, using a limited palate and working wet on wet.
I sometimes vary my subject matter with a portrait or an interior, but inevitably return to the mountains, rivers and bush to which I am so emotionally attatched. |
