I’m a mixed media artist living in Melbourne, Australia.
I love painting landscapes in an abstracted contemporary style in my home studio.
My favourite substrate is wood, mainly for its natural texture and characteristics. I really enjoy sanding back paint on wood panel and then reapplying more layers of colour and waiting to see what will transpire. This process is a silent conversation between myself and the painting appearing before me. It is a give and take process with a dash of intuition. Applying paint and then taking it away, adding texture with many tools (not just paint brushes) and covering it up again - this is the journey for all my pieces. Each of my paintings are a response to my surrounding, they mirror my interpretation through colour, layers and texture.
My paintings are one of a kind, there is only one because the intention of all my creations is to capture a particular moment in time which cannot be replicated. No two are the same, each have their own personality and unique story.
