Artist: Pranjali Karve

ARTIST BIO

Pranjali Karve found art in her life at a very young age, when she made artworks as gifts. Her art grew in leaps and bounds under the guidance and mentor ship of her art teacher during her University days, when she had the opportunity to display her artworks in an eminent art gallery in India. After being busy with family and career for over a decade, Pranjali turned to art again and now pursues it with great enthusiasm. In recent years, she received valuable guidance from Melbourne artist Lee Machelak.

Pranjali’s style of work is Realism, especially portraits and she believes in truthful representation of the subject. Given her architecture background, Pranjali is fascinated by the 3rd dimension and explores it through her artworks. At the ‘Collective Hues’ exhibition by IAA(Indian Australian Artists) Pranjali won accolades for her portrait “Anticipation”, which was voted the best artwork by the visitors and given the most commendable art award by the chief guest. She enjoys doing live portraits on stage in front of an audience and has recently finished a live portrait in front of an audience of 100 in under 15 minutes.

Pranjali Karve is an architect by profession, who completed her Masters in Town Planning on an academic scholarship. She is an active member in theater, having performed on stage number of times, and has completed two short films. Pranjali is also an avid writer and contributes articles every month to a local magazine. She has modeled for a local fitness brand, and appeared in a TV commercial and on advertisements on buses in Australia. She has an experience of being a host for conducting celebrity interviews and an MC for events.
