Brian Nash was born in Melbourne and is self taught. He has been painting professionally since the early 70's, Mountain Cattlemen of The High Country, Romantic Gardens, Seascapes, Landscapes and well known icons of Daylesford. Since moving to Daylesford in 2000 Brian has found much inspiration in many subjects of the region including The Convent gallery, the Boathouse, Lake Daylesford, Jubilee Lake and many other buildings of note, and beautiful landscapes filled with that very special light which he captures with feeling and conviction.
Brian was a foundation member of Australian Guild of Realist Artist and taught privately for 10 years. Brian works in oil, acrylic, and pastel. On painting trips Brian prefers to sketch and photograph his subjects, finishing his works in his studio. The subjects are created with great strength and feeling, executed with a brillant pallette of colour. Brian has had over 50 one man exhibitions in his career and has many awards to his name, with many paintings in private collections in Europe, United States, Canada, Great Britian, Ireland, Asia, Japan and Australia.
